2023 OECD Global Anti-Corruption & Integrity Forum
On 24 and 25 May 2023, the OECD Global Anti-Corruption & Integrity Forum took place at the OECD Conference Centre in Paris. Around 500 participants and over 40 speakers from 146 countries took part in this year’s Forum.
The "Integrity Forum" has been organised annually by the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) as part of the "CleanGovBiz" initiative since 2013. At this event, different authorities and organisations can exchange topical information. With this format, the OECD provides support in strengthening integrity, building trust and fighting corruption.
The opening of this year’s Integrity Forum by OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann was followed by a panel discussion on strengthening the partnership between the public and private sectors to fight corruption. The panel included leading representatives from the public and private sectors as well as civil society.
Other topics discussed included the role of integrity among elected and appointed officials, zero tolerance for corruption and what this means for development cooperation in practice, and efforts by governments to strengthen integrity and fight corruption. The undermining of sustainable development and disruption of security of supply in critical commodity supply chains caused by corruption was also on the agenda, as was a review of the current possibilities and limitations of data analytics to help gauge fraud and corruption. Incentives for integrity in infrastructure and strengthening democracies in a globalised world were also debated.
Subsequently, the Working Party of Senior Public Integrity Officials (SPIO) convened.
