Study visit to the BAK by a Kosovan delegation

On 11 and 12 September 2018, a 12-member delegation from Kosovo visited the Austrian Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BAK). The delegation was made up of representatives of the Anti-Corruption Agency, the Kosovo Police, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of European Integration.

The purpose of the visit was to gain an insight into Austrian standards and practices in the fields of preventing and combating corruption.

During the visit, issues such as corruption prevention, anti-corruption investigations, the Austrian National Anti-Corruption Strategy, international cooperation as well as the establishment and management of the Austrian Network of Integrity Officers were discussed. The Kosovan guests were particularly interested in the BAK’s activities regarding corruption prevention as well as investigation and analysis of corruption phenomena and corruption risks.

The meeting formed a good basis for potential cooperation between the two countries in matters relating to the prevention of and fight against corruption.
