Kosovo delegation visits the BAK
On 13 September 2023, the Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BAK) received a delegation from the Republic of Kosovo* to provide insights into the organisation and functioning of the respective institution.
The visit of the Kosovar delegation to the BAK was organised jointly with the OSCE Mission in Kosovo and was themed "Strengthen the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Mechanisms in Kosovo". The Kosovar Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (AKP) was represented by its director and two heads of department, responsible for prevention and investigations. Furthermore, the Kosovar police liaison officer stationed in Austria and a representative of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo took part in the meeting.
Exchange on the topic of corruption at national and international levels
After the Head of BAK Department 1 (Resources, Support and Legal Affairs) had welcomed the guests and presented the tasks and responsibilities of the BAK, the Director of the AKP, Yll Buleshkaj, provided insights into the structure and functioning of the Kosovo anti-corruption agency.
Subsequently, a representative of Department 2 (Prevention, Education and International Cooperation) presented the BAK's multifaceted prevention work, introduced best practices and went into more detail about its student events in particular.
Colleagues from Department 3 (Operational Service) then presented the BAK's investigative work and a representative of Unit 1.3 (Legal Affairs, Analysis and Statistics) provided information on legal mechanisms to prevent and fight corruption.
The event concluded with a discussion on various methods of corruption prevention, with the "Correct or Corrupt" app attracting particular interest from the Kosovar delegation.
