The BAK welcomes a delegation from Jordan

A study visit by Jordan's Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC) was carried out in the framework of an EU Twinning project at the Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BAK) on 28 June 2022.

The high-ranking Jordanian delegation came to Vienna as part of the EU Twinning project "Support the Jordanian Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission in the Fields of Integrity and Corruption Prevention".

Representatives of the BAK presented the organisation and the tasks of the Federal Bureau and provided information on its prevention and education work. The Jordanian participants were particularly interested in practical examples from the field of prevention and the Austrian-wide Network of Integrity Officers (NIO).

The Jordanian delegation also provided insights into their organisation and presented their liaison officer system. This is a system whereby employees of the JIACC are assigned to individual public institutions, e.g. ministries, in order to work there in the area of compliance or risk assessment.

The subsequent discussion led to an intensive exchange of best practices in the field of preventing and combating corruption and laid the foundation for possible further cooperation.

On the same day, the Jordanian delegation also visited the Central Public Prosecutor's Office for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption (WKStA) and the Court of Audit.
