BAK represented at UN Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) Implementation Review Group

UNCAC country reviews are to enter into their next phase, but how? This topic was once again discussed at the 16th meeting of the UNCAC Implementation Review Group (IRG) at Vienna International Centre (VIC) from 17 to 21 February 2025. The Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BAK) was represented by a three-person delegation.

New ‘Corruption SITREP’ working group develops standards for corruption reporting

On 13 February 2025, the ‘Corruption SITREP’ working group on corruption situation reports convened for the first time. It had been founded the previous year by the ‘European Partners against Corruption’ (EPAC) and ‘European contact-point network against corruption’ (EACN) anti-corruption networks.

Slovak Public Defender of Rights visits EBM

On 21 January 2025, one day before the anniversary of the establishment of the Investigation and Complaints Office Allegations of Mistreatment (EBM), EBM received Róbert Dobrovodský, Public Defender of Rights (Ombudsman) of the Slovak Republic and his delegation for a working meeting at the premises of the Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BAK) together with two representatives of the Ministry of Interior Unit ‘Law Enforcement – Regional Police Directorates (LPD)’.

Study visit: BAK delegation at KPK in Slovenia

From 14 to 16 January 2025, the Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BAK) visited the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption (KPK) in Ljubljana, Slovenia, as part of a study visit. The visit focussed on the exchange of best practices for integrity measures in the education sector and anti-corruption awareness-raising measures for young people.

Europol and BAK: 5th ‘Analysis Project Corruption’ meeting

The fifth meeting of Analysis Project Corruption – AP Corruption for short – took place in the auditorium of Europol headquarters in The Hague, Netherlands on 17 December 2024.
